The Challenge
Design a system that works across the full spectrum of interactions a disability support participant on the NDIS can use to manage their funds and acheive positive outcomes to their life . How do you design and incorporate multiple different systems into a seamless interface that is filled with regulations and complexity.
Here's the summary:
- Complex system that incorporates multiple environments into one seamless system.
- Create a future framework for ongoing product strategy and management.
- No benchmarks to follow in a space that has no leaders and no end-to-end systems.
- Build the plane while we fly it, incorporating on-the-fly changes in NDIS policy and internal company focus.

The ultimate goal of Kismet, is to create a complex ecosystem of different roles with participant’s progress at the heart. The disability space is a network of professionals, clinicians and carers working together.
Information flows through the system regularly and transparency is fundamental and Multiple systems need to work together to bridge the gap between a participants goals and a participants budgets.
And to add a level of complexity, we needed to embrace change as requirements and rules changed regularly during the process.
The Solution
Create a design framework to go at speed now and in the future.
A requirementless project that involved a deep understanding of the disability space and a omni channel design system to evolve as the products evolve.
Four key pillars to our solution:
- Create a new visual experience compatible with the disability space.
- Unify functions into a seamless disability management system.
- Design for the present but set up for the future.
- Leave the customer with the tools to evolve.
The Approach
Using a combination of modern design frameworks, we put in a place a plan to achieve their goals.
